King - ruler of a kingdom - can trace lineage back to one of the four original kings, said to be descended from the immortals themselves - inherited position through birth or marriage after the death of the previous king (his father or his wife's father) - head of court, creator of laws, dictator of wars - if under-age (less than 3 years), regent rules in his place
Queen - wife of the king - can trace lineage back to one of the four original kings, said to be descended from the immortals themselves - head of court in her husband's absence - organizes meetings of lords with the king
Prince(s) - sons of the king & queen - eldest surviving son will inherit the throne after his father steps down or passes on - trained to fight by the kingdom's champion/first lord & the king - taught proper manner in court by the queen, the king's ladies and any older princesses in the household
Princess(es) - daughters of the king & queen - taught manner of court by their mother and the king's other ladies - once mature (age three) usually married off to princes of other kingdoms to forge alliances or strengthen existing allied bonds
Chamberlain - the king's principle attendant --- announces his entrance at meetings, carries his messages, guards him, cares for him to the absence of all others
Ladies - other mares who make-up the king's household - companions to the queen; assist in raising the princes & princesses - if they have children by the king, they're not recognized (not considered to inherit his throne or title)
Ace - religious leader of a nation - trained by the kingdom's previous ace - advises the king by the word of the kingdom's god(dess) - officiates all weddings in the nation (see the rules for more) - tutors the princes & princesses in the word of the kingdom's god(dess) - coronates new kings & performs "coming-of-age" ceremonies for the princes & princesses
Ace's Apprentice - a citizen of the kingdom who shows exceptional dedication to his/her god(dess) - trained by their nation's ace to take their place & train the next ace
Champion/First Lord - this role is not passed from father to son, but decided by the king; his favorite warrior & companion, his most trusted friend usually takes this title - trains the princes in the art of combat & war - co-ordinates the royal guard (landless stallions of the kingdom) to defend the lands
Nine Other Lords - nine land-owning stallions of the kingdom - descended from the nine original lords of their kingdom; the titles (click here) and lands of the original nine have been passed down in all kingdoms - lords sit on the king's council & represent their herd to the king
